Color Label Printers

- Color Inkjet label printers: Color inkjet label printers use either dye- or pigment-based inks to produce full color labels or barcodes. Dye-based inks are used to produce vivid “prime labels” while pigment-based inks are more durable, and thus, used to produce industrial labels that resist fading, oil and water, scratching, and more. Pigment inks are ideal for producing chemical labels or outdoor labels, where the most durability is required. This type of label generally has a matte finish. Dye inks are ideal for producing vibrant, glossy labels for food, coffee, candle and retail products.
- Laser and LED label printers (CMYK + White): LED and laser-powered color label printers offer fast, high speed, high volume label printing in full color. Cheapest way to produce white on clear or black.
- GHS label printers: For the most durable labels of all, GHS label printers print compliant GHS / chemical labels. BS5609 certified GHS label printers and media produce full color labels that can withstand long-term immersion in seawater, exposure to chemicals, and harsh environmental conditions without fading, peeling, or detaching from the surface. Monochrome Label Printers
Thermal label printers typically print black text on white or color label media (floodcoated media). They use a heated printhead to produce printed labels and are typically used for industrial purposes such as logistics and transportation labels, manufacturing barcodes, shipping labels, carton labels, and so on.
- Thermal transfer label printers: Thermal transfer printers require the use of an ink-soaked ribbon to transfer the printed image to the label. While black ribbons are common, resulting in black and white labels, colored ribbons are available allowing you to print graphics and text in the ribbon’s color. For example, you might use a red ribbon when printing warning labels.
- Direct thermal label printers: Direct thermal label printers do not require the use of a ribbon. Instead, the image is printed on a thermally reactive label. Direct thermal label printers are ideal for food and barcode label printing.
