CAB 600-meter Thermal Transfer Ribbon Sizes Available

All CAB 600-meter thermal transfer ribbons have a maximum ribbon length of 600 meters (1968 feet). The core size is 25.4mm (1 inch), and the ribbon widths range from 25mm to 170mm / 1” to 6.6”, depending on the printer model listed above. It is important to note that the CAB thermal transfer ribbons’ width must always be slightly wider than the labels. The ribbons are available in three ink formulas: Wax, Wax/Resin, and Resin.

CAB 600 meter Standard Wax Ribbon

CAB standard wax ribbons are designed to offer excellent print results on paper labels. They provide good abrasion, smudge resistance, and moderate water and heat resistance. Wax ribbon is one the most cost-effective type of CAB ribbons, making them perfect for printing applications that don’t require a high degree of durability.

• Wax ribbons have 100% wax Ink and 0 % resin ink

CAB 600 meter Wax-Resin Ribbon

CAB wax-resin thermal transfer ribbons provides a balanced between the durability of resin ribbons and the lower cost of wax ribbons. This ribbon type is excellent for printing on surfaces such as ABS, polyester, polyamide, polypropylene, and acetate. It provides good smudge and abrasion resistance compared to wax ribbons and improved water, chemical and heat resistance. This type of ribbon makes an excellent choice for applications with moderate exposure to harsh environments.

• Wax/Resin ribbons have 50% wax ink and 50% resin ink (resin ink add greater durability)

CAB 600 meter Resin Ribbon

CAB resin ribbons are the most durable CAB ribbons available, offering excellent abrasion, smudge and scratch resistance, as well as strong heat and water resistance. They require a higher temperature while printing, which may shorten the lifespan of the print head, but they are especially valued for high-traffic and harsh environments. They provide excellent print clarity and will last longer than other CAB ribbon types. CAB resin ribbons listed here are also UL969 recognized.
