As a color replacement for black and white industrial thermal label printers, the 4-inch Epson ColorWorks C6000A is a high-speed printer that is able to keep up with Zebra barcode printers. The Epson ColorWorks C6000A gloss color label printer is engineered for demanding applications and offers comparable media handling capabilities to industrial thermal printers, including speed, features, and connectivity options.

With full color and gloss ink options available, this printer is ideal for high-quality product labels and barcodes.

The Epson CW-C6000A Gloss version has a built-in automatic cutter, which is handy for use with continuous label stock. Its sibling, the Epson CW-C6000P, comes with a peeler instead of the cutter.

Gloss Ink vs. Matte Ink

The Epson ColorWorks C6000A is available as either a gloss or matte label printer. The only difference between these models is the black ink: the matte printer uses a more durable pigment, which is typically used for more demanding applications like outdoor labels. The pigment in the black ink does not fade over time and retains its image quality. It produces darker, sharper black text and barcodes and is generally used with matte paper or matte polypropylene labels.

The gloss ink is used for all other applications, such as printing labels on glossy paper, polypropylene, or synthetic film labels. This ink type can be used with a wider variety of substrates and offers excellent image quality on glossy substrates.

Both the gloss and the matte inks are BS5609 certified for use with matte polypropylene C6000 chemical labels.
